ROAD RACING NEWS

ROAD RACING NEWS: 15/04/2008

2008 has seen ex-LCRRC riders hitting the head-lines and making lot's of noise in the world of road racing. Arguably top of this list, 2003 Conti Cup UK Champion, Scott Redding with his top 5 places in MotoGP 125, also making head-lines in the same class, ex-SEMRC youngster, Danny Webb, both doing a fantastic job. Also on the world stage, Harry Stafford is making a steady start in the KTM Red Bull 125GP Academy.

Nearer to home saw the 1st round of British Superbike cancelled due to snow at Brands Hatch, but not before Jay Lewis claimed pole position in the 125GP class, and Adam Jenkinson a superb 11th on his Hydrex Honda in the Superbike class, only 1 second behind a factory Japanese rider on his debut!

Three of the 2008 ACU Academy riders are from us, 2006 JawaGP70 Champion, Shaun Horseman [British 125GP], ex-Pit Bike champ/Jawa GP70 rider, James East [British 125GP] & [still current pit bike rider!] Ryan Tyers [600SS with Virgin Yamaha], we wish them all well.

Another Lewis, Cory [2006 Conti Cup UK Champ] has already been notching up race wins on his Honda RS125, and other club championship winners already this year have been Jay Dunn [competing in British SS600 in 2008, with another ex-LCRRC rider, Alex Gault], Adam Robinson [F125], Ash Midwood is proving un-beatable in the Thundersport GB SS600 class, Ed Rendal ha a brace of win under hi belt on hi Honda RS125 in the GP3 class, and we have een Luke Hinton, Stuart Mitchel, Sam Burman, Adam Boyle & Jack Drummond, to name just a few getting some excellent results.

Finally, the 2008 Superteen grid is beginning to look like an LCRRC meeting, with no less than 19 of the grid coming from this championship!

ROAD RACING NEWS: 06/12/2007

Adam Jenkinson has secured a ride with Hydrex Honda in 2008 and will finally be competing in British Superbike, not before time, and is also to be a Dad! Congratulations on both counts!

Harry Stafford, the [only just!] teenage sensation has made it through the selection process for the 2008 Red Bull/KTM MotoGP academy, another fine example of the LCRRC in action, and a credit to what we have always know.....the UK has plenty of talent.

Peter Hickman will be riding in European Superstock in 2008, along with several other up and coming UK riders, including Jay Dunn

ROAD RACING NEWS: 04/10/2007

Ed Rendal has taken the ACU/Dunlop 2007 Motostars GP80 class Championship, which with Adam Robinsons LCRRC 2007 GP70 British Championship title, is a clean sweep for Conti in the British GP70/80 catagory's, well done to all concerned.

LCRRC Pit Bike rider and 2007 CB500 Cup Champion, Ryan Tyers has a ride with Virgin Yamaha in 2008 in the British SS600 Championship, we wish him well.

ROAD RACING NEWS: 20/09/2007

Kasey Wyatt earned his first podium place in the Superteen series last weekend at Snetterton, finishing just 2/10ths of a second behind championship contenders, James Folkhard and Danny Kent.

Aaron Easter is now lying 2nd in the British Supermono championship, after some stunning performances on a relativley stock CRF450 based machine. Aaron has been testing a GSX-R600, courtesy of Steve and Jay Dunn, with an eye for 2008.

ROAD RACING NEWS: 28/07/2007

Wes Steinschaur has had more excellent outings in F125 recently, with top 5 places at Motostars, as well as leading the EMRA championship currently by a solid 15pts.

Adam Boyle is getting to grips with the Honda RS125 machine now, and is currently 2nd in the Aintree championship, and has had some solid results at other clubs, as well as improving with every outing at Motostars

ROAD RACING NEWS: 28/06/2007

It has been a cracker of a fortnight for ex-LCRRC & SEMRC young riders!

* Jay Dunn - Has been selected for a try out in the Rumi Honda squad in Italy for possibly the remaining European Superstock series, he will fly out to Italy in around a week.

* New Era @ Pembrey - Saw all our boys filling all the podium spots in the GP125 class, Stuart Mitchell [also racing in the Red Bull KTM MotoGP support Academy class] taking 4 wins out of 4, Shaun Horsman 2 x 2nd and 2 x 3rd places & Ashley Midwood 2 x 3rd and 2 x 2nd places. Tom Fisher is really getting his head aound the GP250 in his first year, with some solid 5th & 6th places.

* Adam Jenkinson - Taking his first podium of the year, with a 3rd at Mondello Park in the British Superstock Championship.

* Adam Shelton - Notching up another couple of wins at Cadwell Park with Auto66.

* Harry Stafford - The 13 year old GP125 rider continues to impress with a win and a second at Darley Moor

ROAD RACING NEWS: 16/06/2007

NG Racing were at Cadwell on June 2nd & 3rd....another chance for ex-LCRRC rides to shine! GP125 was, once again, where it was at, with Jay Lewis in dominant form, winning all 4 races over the two days, Harry Stafford was consistently up there, but having to settle for 2nds and 3rds. Also up in the top ten, was British 125 Academy, and ex-LCRRC riders, Sam Burman + Marcus Woodbine. Race 3, saw ex-LCRRC riders take 1st, 2nd & 3rd! Toby Glenn was also having a not bad weekend, with 2 x 4th place spots

ROAD RACING NEWS: 15/06/2007

Ex-LCRRC riders were in dominant form at the New Era meeting at Cadwell on May 27/28, the CB500 Cup seeing Ryan Tyers bag 3 race wins out of 4 races over the two days, and Jim Lovell 2 x 4th place finishes.

125GP saw Ashley Midwwod, Jay Lewis and Toby Glenn all claim race wins during the weekend, in race one in fact, they finished 1-2-3! Harry Stafford also managed a 3rd place. The weather though was petty appalling, and claimed a few victims, including Ben Barrett, who is about to go BSB after his broken arm has healed, and Shaun Horsman, who's bike was almost destroyed.

Tom Fisher, obviously really starting to get to grips with the 250GP machine, bagged a best of the season 4th, but also fell victim to the weather on the Sunday, ending up with a concussion.

In the meantime, Kasey Wyatt is obviously starting to get to grips with the F125 machine, posting several excellent finishes, the best being a 6th at Pembrey, on 26th May, beating previous winner, Shaun Winfield. The series continues to be dominated by ex-NEEC rider, James Folkard, and ex-SEMRC rider, Danny Kent

ROAD RACING NEWS: 08/05/2007

Another fantastic weekend for ex-LCRRC riders, with both Harry Stafford and Jay Lewis taking race wins at Snetterton, and Luke Mossey's 3rd at the British 125GP Championship at Oulton Park last weekend.

Aaron Easter scored an incredible 4th place on circuit at Snetterton, in the combined European/British Championship this weekend, which also meant 2nd in the British, still only riding a basically stock 450cc machine, against 700cc + bikes, and after suffering a fuel glitch, which had Aaron raising his hand thinking he was retiring until the engine burst back into life!

James East, has been given a ride this weekend by Replicast at the British GP125 Championship round at Oulton Park. This is no doubt, due to James superb perfomances in 2006 on an old '96 bike, and 2007, where James has really stamped his authority on the ACU Motostars Academy on his 2007 machine. .

ROAD RACING NEWS: 25/04/2007

Jay Dunn, the 17 year old from Manchester, has been given a wild card ride in the Suzuki GSX-R 750 World Cup at Assen this weekend, which is a support race to the 2007 WSB Championship.

ROAD RACING NEWS: 16/04/2007

What a fantastic weekend for ex LCRRC riders;
Luke Mossey won the GP125 British Championship round at Thruxton.
Aaron Easter came 2nd in the British Supermono Championship round.

as for the ACU Dunlop Motostars,
Jay Dunn won the Suzuki GSX-R 600 class, on the back of some stunning displays early on in 2007.
James East won the opening round of the GP125 class at Brands Hatch, with 5 ex-LCRRC riders in the top 10, Harry Stafford came a class 4th, quite remarkable for a 13 year old "rookie".

ROAD RACING NEWS: 26/03/2007

ROAD RACING NEWS: 15/12/06

BILLY MELLOR
has been given a Suzuki GSX-R 600 for 2007, however, he will be starting the season on his RS125, until he "get's his head around" the Suzuki. Billy did get a podium place on a 600 in 2006 in a one off ride, as well as many wins and podium places on the 125.

A bike is being built curently using a Tigcraft chassis, and Honda CRF450 engine. Aaron will be competing a full season in the British series, and wants to have a go at two European rounds [Assen & Brno], with a view to going Euopean full time in 2008.

ROAD RACING NEWS: 07/12/06

Adam Jenkinson

ADAM JENKINSON
Adam Jenkinson will once again be riding a Suzuki GSX-R 1000 in the British Superstock Series in 2007, sponsored once again by the Rocket Centre, Blackburn, Lancs. Adam impressed in his first year in the class in 2006, earning him a once off ride with Rumi Honda in the final European round of 2006, where he qualified top British Rider, and was doing well until a rider crashed in front of Adam, taking him with him! Plans for 2007 include more European rounds, with a view to a full time European championship ide in 2008 at the latest.

ALEX GAULT
Alex Gault, 2006 Honda CB500 Champion, will be racing in the ACU Dunlop Motostars Suzuki GSX-R 600 series in 2007. Alex has had a stunning year in 2006, not only on the Honda CB500, but also riding in F400 in Scotland on an RVF, his performances earning him the "Ross Leigh Challenge Trophy".

ALEX HEATON
Alex Heaton, GP125 class 2006 New Era Champion, is looking to move up to British GP125 for 2007, as this is the logical step for the talented young Halifax rider. Money, as is often the way, is the main stumbling block, potential sponsors can catch up with Alex at www.alexheatonracing.com

ALEC WRIGHT
Alec Wright has announced his intention to move up to British GP125, after a superb rookie season, which earned him one of the EMRA "Novice of the year" awards [another going to Jawa GP70 Rider, Ben Turner....also moving up to GP125 in 2007].

BARRETT BOYS
The Barrett boys, all 3, Sam, Ben & Adam will be competing in the ACU Dunlop Motostars GP125 class Championship in 2007. This will be the second year for Ben & Adam, and the first for Sam, who like his other two familly members, came from mini moto, Conti, then Jawa

CONNOR BEHAN
Connor Behan has announced his intention to go the British GP125 class in 2007, after 2 years in F125, which, despite his outstanding performances, has seen Connor come runner up in 2 classes in 2006, sponsors are being sought to help Connor face this new challenge

DAN LINFOOT
Dan Linfoot will be full-time in the MotoGP 250 class in 2007. Dan had some excellent results at UEM GP250 rounds in 2006, and did a number of MotoGP rounds as well, which should see him with some good experience behind him for his assault on the "Privateer" trophy.

JAMES EAST
James East will shortly be taking delivery of a 2007 Honda RS125 for the ACU Dunlop Motostars Championship in 2007. James had some stunning results in 2006, with 7 race wins, despite being on a very standard, and rather tired 1996 machine. One to watch in 2007 for certain.

JAMIE MOSSEY & STUART MICHELL
Jamie Mossey and Stuart Michell will be riding KTM 125's, in the Red Bull MotoGP Academy in 2007. More British riders were selected for the evaluation day in Spain than any other nationality, and most of those were ex-L.C.R.R.C, 2 out of the 4 British riders also ex-L.C.R.R.C. There are more British riders in the final group than any other Nation......a sure sign of things on the up for British Road Racing

JAY DUNN
Jay Dunn has signed to ride in the ACU/Dunlop Motostars Championship, in the Suzuki GSX-R 600 series, Jay, who finished 4th in the 2006 series, should have one advantage up his sleeve, in that he was virtually the only rider using the Suzuki in 2006!

KASEY WYATT
Kasey Wyatt has gained a full Superteen ride for 2007, after some solid performances in 2006 on board the Jawa, with a brand new, fully race prepared machine being supplied. Kasey wanted to stay the "GP" route, but is currently too young for GP125.

MATT RYAN
Matt Ryan will be riding in Team Phoenix in 2007, on a 2004 RS125, which has been mothballed since it was bought, and has only completed one run-in session at Cadwell Park. The bike is with Phoenix Racing, being prepared for Matt, who will be competing mainly in the 2007 ACU Dunlop Motostars Championship, as well as EMRA.

PETER HICKMAN
Peter Hickman has re-signed for Hawk Kawasaki to ride the ZX10 in the British Superbike Championship once again, after some impressive performances in 2006. Peter will be riding, we believe, in a 2 man team, the other rider has yet to be confirmed.

ROSS WALTER
Ross Walter will be competing in British Superstock in 2007, after a succesful season in 600 Supersport with MRO in '06.

SEAN MOORE
Sean Moore,2005 Jawa GP Champion, who rode for Phoenix Racing in 2006, on their Honda RS125 [finishing 2nd in the EMRA championship], will also be looking to compete in the new GP250 class, which is, according to the ACU, virtually already full for 2007, sponsorship badly needed for this talented young lad, call Phoenix Racing if you would like to give the lad a hand!

SHAUN HORSMAN
Shaun Horsman [2006 Jawa GP Champion], will be riding for Phoenix Racing at all EMRA rounds in 2007, in addition, Shaun will be riding his own RS125 [an '06 machine] at the ACU Dunlop Motostars Championship.

TOM FISHER
Tom Fisher will be moving up to the BSN/Replicast 250GP British Championship in 2006 after a succesfull first season in GP125 in 2006. At 6'1" tall, Tom is just too big for a 125, and after coming through "proper" GP racing classes [Conti, GP70], didn't want to go the 600 route.
