 Junior Road Racing Information Many young mini moto riders ultimately aspire to a career in road racing, which is what Phoenix Racing and the L.C.R.R.C is about, there are several choices, as follows; L.C.R.R.C - In effect, a "pre" road race club, the perfect way to cut your teeth before getting out on the big tracks, advantages are that you can start much younger than permitted with ACU licenced clubs, the L.C.R.R.C runs the following classes at their events; Junior Mini moto Jawa GP50 Auto Minibike Supermoto [junior & senior] GP 50 Novice [for starters on machines like the 50cc Conti, etc] Conti Challenge [a cheap way to start, using older V2 50cc Conti] Conti Cup UK [for the new V3 machine, and more advanced riders] GP70 [for seniors and young riders, typically with a year or so's experience on the 50cc machine]. Next up is ACU junior road race championships, of which we co-run 2. Minimum age is 12, and you must obtain a race licence, which entails you having to attend a track/training day at Darley Moor, and a written exam held at ACU headquarters in Rugby, you also have to join the club with who you will be racing; The 2 championships we co-run are as follows; Jawa GP Junior Cup, Jawa RS80 machines only, run by EMRA at Mallory Park. Phoenix Cup, any formula 80 or GP [Conti/Jawa] machine, capacity limit of 75cc, run with JRA/Preston & District, using 3 Sisters and Anglesey circuits. All of these offer a cost effective, safe [you only go out with other junior riders], fair, and very competetive way to kick-start your racing career.
