Minimoto Racing

Minimoto Racing Action from Whilton Mill 2008

Minimoto Racing

Minimoto has recieved a lot of bad publicity in recent years, however, were you aware that Championship minimoto Racing has existed in the UK since the early 90's? The SEMRC is now coming up to it's 10th year, and is the UK's largest minimoto racing championship, with as many as 260 entries per meeting in 2006! The club is aimed at residents in the South of England, to keep travel, and therefore expenditure to a minimum.

What does it offer you? A chance to race your minimoto in a safe, controlled environment, at the some of the UK's top MSA Kart circuits [some circuits as large as 1,200 metres!].

Every minimoto class, budget, age and ability is catered for, this is as close to full on road racing as you will get.....in miniature!

What will you need? Well, once you have chosen your racing class, starting with 4.2 aircooled, production 8.5hp or supers 10+HP and super national
you will need an ACU "gold" approved full face helmet, race suit, boots, gloves and a back protector....that's it, you are up and running! No licence is required, and classes go from the lower power classes 4.2hp to 14+hp supers!

Junior minimoto racing is of course catered for, but adult 'minimoto racing' is of course what we are also about, can't fit on a minimoto? What you need is Pit Bike Racing! Machines are as little as £500, and with a 4-stoke, 125cc Engine and 4 speed gearbox, not to mention sticky race tyres, high speed thrills are guaranteed!

For more ambitious Juniors, there is also the Conti Cup South, using the stunning 50cc Junior Road Race bike, and for beginers/intermediate, the Jawa GP50 Auto. ( see machinery for more info)

meetings are spread over 2 days, but the structure is such that you don't have to attend both days if you don't wish to. Qualifying is GP style, with transponder lap timing, you will not beleive how close to Club Road Racing this is run, by staff with many years of experience....no wonder it's the UK's # 1 minimoto racing Championship!
